The participants were given the eight-week class and evaluated by a pretest and posttest of the Spiritual Well-Being Scale, pretest and posttest interviews, and field research notes. The project has shown that a Christian pastor can follow a course of action, which will result in the reduction of this relative insignificance.  The reduction is shown through comparing surveys administered before and after a program of emphasis on the Lord's Supper. Research was conducted through a literature search.  The results were presented in a form of a seven-session divorced/separated group seminar focusing on: grief and depression, loneliness, guilt and rejection, anger and bitterness, identity and self worth, sexuality, and future goals. Results demonstrate what leadership and membership believe is necessary to live the Spirit-filled life.  Further, the research identifies the balance between the impact of local leadership and private disciplines.  The study identifies how to lead membership into Spirit-filled living and witness. The basic premise of the project is that although spiritual growth, or life transformation, is something only God produces, there is a definite role that individuals play as recipients of God's grace. Although spiritual growth is a process, it also requires intentional effort on the part of the believer. The Apostle Paul indicates the need for this kind of balance when he says, 'Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose' (Philippians 2:12-13). This pilot project involves offering a discipleship class called The Spiritual Exploration Class. The class challenges participants to identify a spiritual growth edge in their lives. Then, within the context of a small group and together with a spiritual director, each participant develops a personal spiritual growth plan to give focus to his or her efforts. The project essentially serves as a catalyst to move a person toward spiritual growth. The success of the pilot project is measured against the stated objectives of the project for the purpose of improving future programming.
