The pauline concept of the body of Christ is examined as it relates to the various facets of worship.  The weekend retreat, built upon the worship paradigm, is offered to new members and members of longer standing. A study manual was developed as a compendium of ecclesiological research.  Organized under the heads Failure, Foundation, Focus, Form and Function, it comprised 30 theses or statements for discussion with supporting material.  Bible reference sheets were also developed.  The manual was used in a weekend retreat with a small group of church lay leaders. Pre- and post-retreat testing indicated considerable improvement in participants' understanding of the nature and mission of the church.
