The project director first researched methods and principles in developing church revitalization strategies and identified ten best practices. Second, the director researched the demographics of the community to identify the needs and concerns of those within the church’s sphere of ministry. Third, the project director identified the major revitalization needs of the church through an internal analysis of the church’s vision, ministries, programs, and structures.Based on this research, the director then led a strategic revitalization team, comprised of a representative selection of twenty church members, through a fourteen-session strategy development process. The team members were equipped to understand and work through the ten best practices of church revitalization, as identified by the project director as well as engaged in the process of strategically planning the church’s revitalization strategy. The external demographic data and common elements discovered provided the basis for which the multiethnic church planting strategy was developed. The project director utilized various information gathering resources to determine the needs of internationals and to identify common elements for effective multiethnic church planting models. The project director researched strategy planning techniques, especially strategies that focused on reaching multiethnic communities. He then led a selected planning team to develop a multifaceted strategy on how to reach the diverse ethnicities represented in Portland, Oregon. The project director researched discipleship methods, aspects, formation, and models. Following the research, the compiled an annotated bibliography of selected discipleship models and then conducted an appraisement of selected discipleship models. From there, the project director surveyed the congregation and reviewed the existing discipleship making methods. The results of these inquires provided the project director with the needed information to develop reports on current practice and spiritual health. To fashion his learning into an enhanced strategy, he did research into strategy creation process from which he developed a report. The fruit of all the research was used to develop an enhanced strategy. A select team was then gathered to assist in the manufacture of a presentation. The team delivered the presentation to the pastors and elders. The pastors and elders asked for application details. Once provided, the strategy was accepted. Exodus"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this DMin project was equipping the people in existing senior leadership positions to cultivate people for potential leadership positions to exercise effective leadership behaviors to contribute to the mission of First Baptist Church of Merced. The qualitative research project required Biblical and contemporary literature study in learning leadership behaviors, transferring leadership behaviors, mentoring, healthy leadership, and recognizing potential in people.     The project utilized a multi-phased approach to methodology. There was a survey and focus group discussion preceding a Leadership Lab involving the people in existing senior leadership positions. The purpose of the first phase was equipping the people in existing senior leadership positions with the skill necessary to equip others.      In the second phase, the people in existing senior leadership positions recruited mentees to cultivate them for effective leadership behaviors in potential leadership positions. A Field Guide was provided for the mentors, and data were recorded through bi-weekly meetings of the researcher with the mentors and Field Guides, Leadership Profiles, focus groups, and formal and informal interviews. The results were evaluated, and modifications for future use were presented.     The researcher concluded the process was successful in producing people who were cultivated with effective leadership behaviors for potential leadership positions by equipping the people in existing senior leadership positions. In order for the process to be undertaken subsequently in this researcher’s congregation, the first Leadership Lab and the book studied during the mentoring phase needed to change. For other congregations to benefit from the process, additional instructions would need to be provided. At the same time, the project director researched and created a strategy planning process for Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Then the project director enlisted church leaders to serve on a strategy development team. the project director led the team to develop a special-needs ministry strategy designed to serve the church and reach the community. Next, the project director prepared a strategy presentation for the church with the help of the team. Finally, he presented the team's special-needs ministry strategy to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for their adoption in regularly scheduled business meeting. The first step was an internal analysis of the congregation of FBCA. Statistical information was gathered from the Annual Church Profile reports and insights gained from the project director's tenure as pastor. The analysis also included an assessment of the congregation of FBCA. The insight and assessment results were shared with the Vision Committee of FBCA, which served the project as strategy-planning team. The team assisted the project director in identifying the critical areas of need in the life of FBCA, giving insights and direction for strategy components, and aided the project director in setting goals and action steps for the strategy itself. The project director met with the team in four sessions to accomplish the aforementioned purpose. The project director formed a Church Growth Strategy team that reviewed the research during six team sessions and helped develop a list of church growth strategies that would be most effective at First Baptist Church, Dubach. First Baptist Church of Minneoloa is a sixty-year-old church that grew in membership during the late nineteen seventies into the nineteen nineties. After that period of growth, the church began to lose members. Through research and communication with a select group of church members, a four=part strategy proposal was created and presented to the church. The strategy focused on the church becoming more invitational, improving a guest’s first visit, changing stereotypical perceptions and perspectives, and hearing the concerns of millennial families.
