In this paper, the author addresses the question, 'How does reframing volunteer to disciple impact and revitalize the teaching ministry of the church?' The project director implemented the project with selected adult leaders in the Sunday school at Mount Zion Baptist Church who desired to increase their understanding and skills in using the four components of emotional intelligence. Before the six-session workshop, participants completed the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal [registered symbol] as a pretest and post-test. Workshop sessions explored the present need for emotional intelligence in ministry; self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management as they relate to ministry. In fact, 2 Timothy has the highest percentage of imperatives in its first half than any other Pauline epistle. The author used traditional research methods. The author examined biblical texts that dealt with the issue or recruiting and developing teachers.  In addition, the author researched foundational material that highlighted sound teacher training strategies. New and current teachers were utilized to sit through the training material and then teach a series of lessons using the training they had recieved.  Learning style surveys and post-lesson interviews were used to discover the effectiveness of the training model. Once they became personal evangelists, they would lead their classes to be more involved in evangelism. The author researched the importance of the pastor's role in personal evangelism.  He discovered evangelism was more effectively learned experientially.  He researched two basic fears in evangelism: incompetence and rejection.  He studied basic apologetics and researched how to overcome distractions in evangelism.  The conclusion was the teachers were more equipped as a result of the project than before it. Shiloh is an old, traditional, southern black Baptist institution whose historical prominence emerged because of her dynamic Christian education ministry, of which Sunday School had dwindled to nil.  Eager to revitalize the Christian education ministry and energize the persons of auxiliaries and ministry leaders, the pastor petitioned to boost a dying ministry.  An initiative involving all church leaders was launched to address the Christian education needs of Shiloh.  The timeline for this project was originally six weeks, but developed into an additional seven weeks to more effectively meet the objectives of the project.  Phase I of the project focused on assessing the Christian education ministry, defining roles and leadership training. Phase II specifically concentrated on Sunday School teacher training centered on biblical background knowledge, Christian doctrine, teaching methods and addressed a variety of learning styles. It describes the processes that led to the institution of a Sunday school project and the formation of the Achimota School Gospel Outreach Club.  Members of the club serve their peers as teachers in Sunday school classes.  It also seeks to establish the theological, psychological and biblical rationale for involving teenagers in teaching the Gospel in Achimota School, Accra, Ghana.  It then investigates possible ways to provide the missing link of significant Christian adult supervisors for teenage peer-teachers. It is a ten-session, twelve hour training course.  For this project the course was conducted using a retreat setting for half of the sessions and five consecutive Sunday evenings for the remaining sessions.  The primary target group is adult teachers currently serving in the project leader's church.  In addition, a select number of potential leaders were enlisted to participate. The project will address the following content areas: The purpose of Sunday School, the role of teaching in Sunday School, spiritual gifts in relationship to teaching, developmental stages of adults, learning and how learning occurs, levels of learning, how to study the Bible, lesson preparation steps, methods of teaching, lesson presentation skills, learning styles, and teaching for spiritual transformation. This course is designed to only address teaching needs and does not address organizational or outreach roles for the teacher.  A course text will be prepared by the project leader along with various teaching aids, worksheets, survey forms, visual aids, and evaluation forms. An explanation and understanding of the 'bow tie' theory of church growth and the development of a five-year growth strategy will also be presented. The project leader will lead an eight-week training period with the adult Sunday School teachers after the evening worship service. Each session will last approximately one hour. The sessions will seek to expand the teacher's knowledge of the importance of Sunday School as well as seek to improve the organization of the Sunday School program at Chapel Grove Baptist Church. This project, upon completion, will provide the Sunday School ministry at Chapel Grove Baptist Church a strong foundation upon which to build for the future. The goal is to provide a plan that will not only impact the present but also the future. The project leader seeks to make a lasting contribution to the teachers and leaders at Chapel Grove Baptist Church so that they can make an even bigger difference in the lives of their
