The author researched how the consecutive religions with their beliefs and practices throughout the history of Egypt have combined to shape the mentality, worship, manners, and character of today's Egyptians. As the result of this research, on adult study course on prayer for Korean American church lay people is design, implemented and evaluated. The D/P is arranged in three Parts. In part one, Wesley's historical and theological background together with his spirituality was dealt with his practice of prayer and finally his activities in the U.S.A. In part two, I examined Korean spirituality which was influenced very much by Shamanism and Mysticism. I illustrated two pastors' stories which impressed me very much. In part three, a questionnaire was designed to know what the Korean scholars and pastors thought about Wesleyan prayer and their prayer practice. A literature review related to the indigenization of the Christian faith in Korea begins the study.  Research also was conducted to discover shamanistic factors in Christian faith in the Korean church. He concludes that functional substitutes are biblical and should be used to help the converts avoid syncretism.  The author did primary research into the beliefs and practices of the Dyaks in West Kalimantan, Indonesia.  He developed a manual of functional substitutes for use by rice farmers. This project investigates the question and attempts to apply some answers.  Specific objectives are (1) to relate what the traditional worldview is, (2) to learn, by means of a polled sample, what some present-day Zulus say about their beliefs and (3) to suggest missionary methods that will communicate the gospel within the current Zulu frame of reference. Historical beliefs are enumerated and seen to form a cohesive pattern of thought.  A questionnaire shows what Zulus say on such subjects as cosmogony, cosmology, traditional medicine, taboos, Christian doctrine and Zulu religion. Attention is given to the implications of the Zulu worldview for missions. It is argued that the Korean church must grow by a process of contextualization in which the over-indigenized faith of the Korean Christians must become
