In contrast to the Roman Catholic Church's teaching of complementarity--which designates gender-assigned gifts--the synergistic dynamic of mutuality was examined through philosophical, ethical, and anthropological lenses. Three contemporary pairs were interviewed, and three historical pairs were studied, specifically Francis and Clare of Assisi, Francis de Sales and Jane de Chantal, Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin. It states that true brokenness is primarily about admitting the foolish directions of our hearts, often shaped by our wounded past. An exploration of Scripture and literature formed a context for the research, conducted as a semi-structured interview. It consists of interviews and follow-up conversations with people who are lay leaders in their respective church communities. The result of the research was that most people were challenged to think more biblically about brokenness and how God is working redemptively in the midst of it."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131146322444288,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:42:51.563Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:00:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:55:22Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"564f5d56-8aba-4f54-b92d-f6d29cbef938","accessControl_ssim":["8c1700b3-66c1-42fd-befd-8a3226999232"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The redemptive journey of forgiveness: getting back to who we are created to be"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:00:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:39:31Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["efbed1f9-0d72-438c-9a85-84f326f22638"],"hasLease_ssim":["2635f8a4-57a1-4ae6-9cc7-4ff2d74fc47a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Frank Rainey"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Kwang John Huh"],"publisher_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Emotions","Theological anthropology--Christianity","Forgiveness"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The goal of this project was to begin a journey of forgiveness with a foundation based on a biblical and theological framework of personhood. This examination affirms biblical teaching which simultaneously endorses cultural particularity while affirming the universality of humanity under God. This universality is based on creation, God's redemptive plan for all nations, Jesus' death on the cross, the establishment of the church, and the eschatological vision of the multi-cultural assembly in Revelation 5:9 and 7:9. Implementing this unity-in-diversity includes identifying sinful tendencies to find our identity at the expense of others, caring for the 'outsiders,' participating in God's redemptive plan, working towards reconciliation, and taking initiative to live out the 'new humanity' described in Ephesians 2:11-22."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell
