The assumption that underlies the project is that if teachers can experience intersection between personal story, personal experience, the biblical story, and faith community experience, to tell one will be to tell the other. As a result, the Bible will become biographical, which makes it easier to communicate. Teaching then will be discernibly different in the church education experience. The project was a six-week teacher education experience for mid-high teachers that utilized denominational materials as the primary resource. The findings supported the primary assumptions: teaching was conducted in a different manner and mid-high pupils experienced a renewed enthusiasm for Bible study."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127248009428992,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:40:53.842Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:52:04Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:29:19Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d55ee4ea-123a-4558-be6e-b79941e3c456","accessControl_ssim":["58287de9-4cf5-421d-b518-c749e7866203"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Theology in use: interpretation and application of communications theory in religious communities"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:52:03Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:13:49Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4d777ace-0d33-4a52-a0aa-41658e980533"],"hasLease_ssim":["1cac7cf9-08da-4b7d-93ae-a80aced32108"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Meredith Handspicker"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Beverley F Edwards"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations","Theology","Communication","Behaviorism (Psychology)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project attempts to integrate explicit theology with behavioral psychology and organizational development theory. A key feature of the Workbook is 'The Anchorhold Personality Temperament Indicator' which leads persons to learn meditation according to their personality temperament. The Workbook includes an analysis as to why persons in the 1980's are hungry for the ministry it offers."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717689315295232,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:22:17.081Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:09:26Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:32:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"337dd7d1-1d38-45b0-bad3-8ad55ffe57e0","accessControl_ssim":["944527a4-47ee-4b57-a566-9d5165504742"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Dialogue as a means of reconciliation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:09:25Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:37:40Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7751ea83-cae8-4ff5-b3da-31b7a515f5e3"],"hasLease_ssim":["99389157-860e-43e2-be16-ae8eddcd9b7d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Susanne Johnson"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Glenn A Noblin"],"keyword_tesim":["Practice (Theology)"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Dialogue","Judaism","Fowler, James W","Groome, Thomas H","Christianity","Theology","United Methodist Church","Interfaith relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project demonstrates that interreligious dialogue is an appropriate and viable ministry of the local church. Dialogue is appropriate because the basic theme of the Bible is God's passion for reconciliation and dialogue is a means of reconciliation. Dialogue is viable because, in terms of James Fowler's stages of faith, even people who have not developed beyond the second stage are capable of responding to dialogue in a limited way. A report on a dialogue between members of a Uniited Methodist church and a Jewish congregation shows that an adaptation of Thomas Groome's 'shared praxis' approach to religious education is effective for people in various stages of faith who are in a dialogue situation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126736980672512,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:32:46.487Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":8,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Anthony Nickolas Gavalas","hits":1,"label":"Anthony Nickolas Gavalas"},{"value":"Beverley F Edwards","hits":1,"label":"Beverley F Edwards"},{"value":"Bradley N Hill","hits":1,"label":"Bradley N Hill"},{"value":"David B Madsen","hits":1,"label":"David B Madsen"},{"value":"David Erwin Avery","hits":1,"label":"David Erwin Avery"},{"value":"Glenn A Noblin","hits":1,"label":"Glenn A Noblin"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Practice (Theology)","hits":3,"label":"Practice (Theology)"},{"value":"Theology, Contextual","hits":1,"label":"Theology, Contextual"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Theology","hits":8,"label":"Theology"},{"value":"Basic Christian communities","hits":2,"label":"Basic Christian communities"},{"value":"Behaviorism (Psychology)","hits":1,"label":"Behaviorism (Psychology)"},{"value":"Bible--Study","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Study"},{"value":"Bible.
