It is a concern that many churches have not come to terms with.  In Australia unemployment was a major concern in the early part of the 1980's.  This study looks at one major industrial city, namely, Wollongong in N.S.W. and considers the responsibility of the church to do ministry with the unemployed.  It raises the preliminary issues of consciousness raising within the church on the issues of unemployment.  It looks at economic, sociological, and theological aspects of unemployment and then proceeds to use the process of structural analysis as a tool in a workshop situation. Students attended lectures on the theology of church, spirituality, and the poor.  Speakers were invited to describe ministries to the poor.  Students selected ministries and received supervision at poverty sites.  A questionnaire was designed to reveal any attitudinal changes in students' perceptions of church, spirituality, and the poor resulting from the course 'Experiences in Ministry.' Included is an exploration of Charles Gerkin's works on hermeneutics in pastoral care with theological emphasis.  Crises stories from six persons and a biblical story are analyzed in group session by the methods obtained from Gerkin. The new 'United Methodist Hymnal: Book of United Methodist Worship' contains services or word and table that allow for the celebrant to create varieties in the prayer.  This project contains 26 eucharistic prayers based on the Common Lectionary rather than the season.  The project also examines the history of the prayer, Wesley's approach to the sacrament, and how the 1988 United Methodist liturgy developed. This project thesis develops a perspective on relationship drawn from theories in the fields of psychology, theology, and faith development.  Research data consisted of twelve interviews with women who were asked to describe themselves, their relationships, and their faith.
