The literature search examined biblical, theological, and historical foundations.  The field research was conducted using a basic questionnaire with twenty questions to conduct open-ended, guided interviews.  The sample consisted of key Pentecostal leaders from the Assemblies of God and key non-Pentecostal evangelical leaders serving in strategic positions with ministry experience of over twenty-five years.  The literature search revealed that theologians and practitioners of church history who overemphasized either the Word or the Spirit fell into error, portrayed a lack of balance, and caused division in the church.  The field research revealed that despite the differences in theologies and labels, the work of the Spirit was pretty similar. By distinguishing too sharply between the Word and the Spirit, the church has lost an important biblical perspective and fractured the Body of Christ. The contention was that if the sanctuary, holy space, had been profaned, the people had likewise been profaned. The author accomplished this through congregational participation in a liturgy rededicating the church and reconsecrating the sanctuary. The result was threefold. First, it reestablished the covenant between the congregation and God. Second, it acknowledged the negativity of the past and looked to the future with hope. In order to determine the theological validity of contemporary worship music, the author created a theological analysis tool with both evaluative and non-evaluative questions. Applying that tool to a sample study of more than seventy contemporary worship songs, he determined that while there are many theologically inadequate songs in widespread usage, there are also a great number of contemporary worship songs that do contain theological integrity. The project explores the critical relationship between arts and theology, as explored in a praxis model of integration, through pottery. Writings of theologians John Calvin, Paul Tillich, Michael Polanyi, Douglas John Hall, and artists M. C. Richards, Paulus Berehnson, Catherine Kapikian, and Daniel de Montmollin, Brother of Taize, are considered. Church members, staff, and participants in More than a meal program at Idlewild Church, a program for persons who are homeless or living in compromised situations, were invited to join a series of pottery classes, resulting in nearly sixty persons working together every week, over a seven-week period, concluding with an exhibit of 652 finished pots. My intention in this thesis is to combine expressionistic imagery with African American celebrative preaching.  Most Swedish sermons are cognitive and didactic and without celebration.  Preachers tend to concentrate more on law than gospel.  After such a sermon there might be some quiet time for reflection.  Through imaginative expressionistic celebrative preaching I will bring to Swedish preaching color and joy, which will help the listener experience the assurance of grace.  In this thesis I have defined expressionistic preaching and described the African American celebrative sermon and its theology.  I have also presented imaginative homiletics and its theology and presented a psychological model of interpretation of the imaginary and the mystic experience. In my thesis I have made a descriptive study of the effects in the listeners after an expressionistic celebrative sermon and described the problems with celebration in a Swedish context and given a psychological explanation for the absence of instantaneous celebration.  My conclusions are: The expressionistic celebrative sermon is a colorful and positive experience.  Swedish listeners experience the assurance of grace, but they don't celebrate as a group.
