The curriculum encourages participation in spiritual formation exercises, communion, and fellowship that open the way for a deeper relationship with God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The retreat model was reviewed and evaluated by a panel of experts in the fields of spiritual formation and Christian leadership. The lament is that while it arose from the early Church's experience of God, it has become understood in abstract terms. It is feared that for most, the doctrine has little impact on piety and ethic. A questionnaire on worship and ministry was conducted, some theological reflection encouraged and an evaluation undertaken. New life may come from a variety of sources, not the least of which is local mission. When a congregations reaches out, individually and corporately, it may find the vitality that eluded it while it was searching within. A relational model applied to mission is oriented toward partnership and is never hierarchical.
