Mental health providers are developing treatment plans.  Yet chaplains and other faith leaders also specialize in guilt, shame, and forgiveness.  The writer proposed that veterans--through a series of small group meetings--could learn more about God's love, acceptance, and forgiveness, and as a result begin to forgive themselves. There is not a great deal on religious coping mechanisms. This project examines how veterans use religious coping mechanisms to deal with their PTSD.
