We believe God has equipped us to do work to this end, through local churches. What is often lacking is awareness of the divine call to specific areas of service. I used individual interviews, asking people about their experience in service and any sense of divine guidance, and followed each interview with an online assessment of spiritual gifts. There clearly is a correlation between service, divine guidance, and spiritual gifts. Over a hundred church planter wives from a variety of denominations voluntarily completed a survey about their ministry contributions and six key factors. The survey exposed how the wife of the church planter is considerably involved with her husband's mission to start a new church, and her ministry contributions were especially influenced by her sense of God's calling and her employment status. The church must change its conversation with young adults if it desires a hopeful future beyond the current generation of pastoral leadership. Through analyzing call narratives of ordained young adults, and by identifying ministry strategies of nurturing congregations, best congregational practices emerge: asking the 'call' question, mentoring, service, leadership opportunities, and connecting with the larger church. This investigation attempts to uncover the factors contributing to the problem many seminary-trained American women face in locating suitable employment in ministry positions. The investigator explores this problem as related to the status of women in American culture; Christian (particularly evangelical) culture; the religious landscape in America; church history; evangelical and fundamentalist theology; churches, denominations, and academies; the emerging church movement; seminary recruiting and placement practices; and student debt. The investigator designed and delivered a seminar to female students at two evangelical seminaries to address the problem of ministry placement for women. The design of this study was a phenomenological mixed methods approach. It was determined from the research data that the essence of a call to ministry is a personal and supernatural encounter with the Holy that results in the authorization of, commitment to, and empowerment for a divine commission. Most of them had very good jobs in the workplace and were in the leadership positions when they accepted the call. From quitting their jobs or taking early retirement, the process of becoming full-time ministers is a great challenge. The project director developed an equipping guide, a teaching plan, and a PowerPoint presentation under the supervision of several professionals in the field and utilized them all during a weekend equipping workshop. The project director designed and administered a series of pre and post-tests to measure the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor effectiveness of the workshop. At the completion of the workshop, he evaluated the tests under the supervision of a professional in the field. The evaluations of the tests affirmed the workshop as a success. Western culture's bias toward objectivity casts aspersion on the subjective evidences of a pastor's call.
