Ten husbands of female pastors in the House of God Church were identified to define their role as the 'first gentleman.' The methodology was approached from a pastoral counselor's perspective. Strategies of brief counseling theory (Stone, 2001) were used to develop survey and interview questions for the participants. The specific focus of this project is to identify ten essentials that will provide information and guidelines that could help women move through the process.
