The project director utilized an equipping model in order to accomplish the goals for this project. The first phase of implementation for this project was to research the fields of missional worship and postmodern culture for the purpose of developing annotated bibliographies in those fields to be used as research standards. The second phase of the project was to develop a workshop curriculum for the equipping of a worship design team to address cultural and missional issues related to worship. In the third phase the project director taught the curriculum in a weekend workshop to a multigenerational group of participants in the worship ministry, including members of the worship band, praise teams, choir, and audio-visual team. The prject director has identified that many key leaders involved in the worship planning process of Vaughn Forest Church lack necessary worship planning skills. The worship planning team is responsible for the planning of of the large worship gatherings that involve the entire church. These gatherings have a tremendous impact on the life, direction, and momentum of Vaughn Forest Church. This project focuses on how preacher and musician can work together to provide the worship assembly with a unified proclamation. This report explores the roles of preaching and hymns in the proclamation of the gospel.
