Angry, aggressive feelings and their results have usually been the symptom, overt or covert, presented to the therapist.  Medicine shows that aggression and anger are necessary for the cure of illness.  When a patient loses his ability to fight, he has lost his ability to cure himself or be healed.  Inability to constructively use anger results in anxiety, fear, depression and guilt. A review of the literature, starting with Freud, shows researchers using the expression of anger in therapy as early as the post-WW1 era.  Psychiatrists began with aggressive behavior, drugs,hypnosis, and have moved into implosion theory, desensitization, primal scream, and silent abregation.  Social learning theories have added the possibility of unlearning negative behavior. After therapists are comfortable with expressions of negative emotions of anger, they can set limits for self and client to keep feelings from intermingling. It stresses the importance of a congregation becoming more involved in the baptism of each child and provides resources for parents to guide children.  This model for a congregational baptismal ministry includes concepts of the baptismal liturgy, the learning methodologies of the Small Catechism, and the redemptive approach of small Koinonia groups of parents.  This project was the response of two churches to fill an evident void within the whole church. The paper shows that the faith of the counselee can bring forgotten material to awareness and to resolution when prayer is used in the process of active imagination.  The notion of active imagination is found in the works of C G Jung.  Qualities of active imagination in some of the commentaries on Jung are listed.  After examining the effects of original sin, the author examines the process of redemption that seeks to heal these wounds of human nature. He then takes an in-depth look at grace and faith in this process of healing and examines the understanding of prayer as an instrument of this entire process. Christ-centered prayer has a special power.  Actual cases of counseling, prayer and active imagination help to understand the results of such a procedure to the counselee. The author indicates important issues in premarital counseling. Experience with divorced persons who choose to remarry aids him in understanding the signposts and cautions, the strengths and limitations of a marriage relationship. Insight into the struggles and pains of first marriages, and willingness to share how that experience informs their second marriage is an important resource for identifying key issues in the development of healthy or unhealthy relationships.  Significant personal and interpersonal issues in growing with another person in a marriage relationship are dependence, independence and interdependence. These were implemented in the local church, Chicago metropolitan area, and as a national youth leadership program.  This project included a nationwide questionnaire survey which identified needs and problems of Korean youth, and is based on study of the transition of biculturalism of Korean immigrants, with special reference to youth-parent relationships.  It is grounded in a 'vision theology' for Korean immigrants that has both theoretical and practical aspects. After reviewing three currently available programs, the Kerber Model is presented which uses a variety of techniques to facilitate couple communication and discovery.  The model was proof tested in a retreat setting and results are assessed. Psychotherapy and spiritual growth are concerned with changes in consciousness--changes in basic beliefs about self, others, the world and ultimately about God.  Narcissistic personalities suffer from spiritual poverty as well as from psychological isolation in a cocoon of self-absorption and internalized deprivation. Procedures included 1) an ongoing men's breakfast group to address faith and vocation and participation in a sermon series on the issue; 2) a Health Professionals' Convocation with 18 parishioners for an intensive examination of the same issue.  The results were undramatic: the Health Professionals' Convocation included enlightenment, confusion, controversy and sensitivity.  Of much greater impact were the sharing and interpreting around the event. Programmatic suggestions were referred to appropriate church boards.  An outgrowth of the Convocation, a sharing group on suffering, presently meets weekly.
