A community service model was developed to help promote student volunteering, blood drives, and mission by the local church.  A pilot study using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory showed: 1) levels of anxiety decrease following a blood donation, and 2) the number of previous blood donations decreases the levels of anxiety.  An analogy drawn between the blood donor table and the Table of the Lord demonstrated parallels. This field project sought to rectify this situation within a very limited population by studying the reality of oppression from a black theological perspective with the congregation served by the author. Introduction of black theology to a black congregation helped determine the impact of these concepts on black Christians and develop information that could be used to structure future lectures on black theology for black congregations. They showed they could utilize their calling and masculine/feminine attributes to strengthen their personal ministries and marriage and involve the insights and awareness of laity in the context.  Couple ministry in historical and contemporary settings were researched.  Questionnaires were employed.  Parish laity assisted in producing a pamphlet describing clergy couples and their innovative ministries.
