This was accomplished by: (1) reflection upon the mission of the church in light of changing environmental needs; (2) holding a Mission Sunday to involve the community in formulating a current statement of mission and sense of corporate identity; (3) conducting a planning retreat to set priorities, objectives, and strategies; and (4) evaluation of processes and results. Theological, biblical and psychological foundations relating to grief are explored.  A history and description of establishing and conducting such a group at Carle Foundation Hospital for one year is given.  There are many common feelings, ideas, sensations, and behaviors among the bereaved, but they will be uniquely individual in their expression. Ths information was gained through a written survey of those missionaries who had completed the Assemblies of God Graduate School (AGGS) pre-field training program.  The results of the survey showed a strongly favorable response to the AGGS pre-field training program, with those aspects dealing with cross-cultural communication and cultural adjustment rating the highest.  Language learning was of greatest concern. The principles of andragogy employed in a non-formal setting were found to be the most effective.  Training for cross-cultural service required a heavy emphasis on the development of interpersonal skills. The major issue addressed was how life-situation preaching can be done in such a context.  The legitimacy of an evangelical use of life-situation preaching was established in Scritpure and church history.  Questionnaires were used to discover the most frequently occurring problems of members; sermons were prepared and delivered on the seven most common problems, including anxiety, anger and discouragement.  Members of the congregation evaluated each sermon.  Approximately twenty percent of them said they received help or sought out further counsel with the pastor.  Evening service attendance increased ten percent. Religion has been used by some modern Australian poets and this use is discussed.  Some theopoetic views of Australian and United States writers are given.  Poems by the Australian poets Judith Wright, Alec Derwent Hope, James Phillip McAuley, Gwen Harwood, Bruce Dawe and Les Murray are analysed. Data for preparing the forms are gathered through the use of a practice preaching questionnaire to thirty-six theological seminaries, Bible colleges, and Bible schools.  The philosophy of preaching that serves as the foundation of the project is delineated. Using the information gathered from the survey, together with criteria drawn from research in homiletics, classical rhetoric, and modern secular speech, three sermon critique forms are designed.  Assessment instruments are used by both instructors and students to report their evaluation of the forms. Church planting is the New Testament answer for the evangelization of the country.  Various current approaches to church planting strategy are recognized. Special attention is given to management principles and how they can be applied to church planting.  The setting of essential goals is discussed in the framework of a PERT system (Program Evaluation and Review Technique). The project is structured to gradually develop this PERT system, step by step, beginning with spiritual awakening in a local church.  The PERT plan presented here consists of four networks or chains of goals called events.  Each of these networks moves toward a major goal in the plan. The text seeks to carefully explain each activity necessary in order to reach the following goal or event in the chain.
