The primary tool involves daily use of an imagery model outlined in Getting Well Again, (Simonton, Simonton, and Creighton) with five persons whose physical dysfunction of prolonged duration serves as an indicator of stress.  The group meets weekly for reporting and sharing for a three month period.  A pre-test and post-test procedure uses the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (Spielberger, Gorsuch, and Luschene). This study is theologically informed by the concept of faith as grace with courage, the power enabling individuals to encounter and calm the anxiety of finitude.  The research designed is quasi-experimental using a pretest, posttest and comparison group.  It is an outcome study. Total participants in the study numbered 68.  Statistical analysis consisted of an analysis of variance and linear step regression of gain scores.  The research hypothesis was affirmed at the .05 level of significance. This project sought to assist such growth through developing personal learning plans based on ministry needs in a supportive group context.  Ten Fort Wayne Lutheran pastors met monthly for eight months. Beginning with lay and self-evaluation of pastoral functions, each pastor developed a learning plan complete with goals, resources, time table and accountability structure. The desire of the study was to make available material, and instruction which would help to prepare the practical materials, providing information for the survivors of the deceased listing the desires of the deceased for his or her bodily disposal. Priests will only accept the diaconate when they understand why it was restored. Understanding--and definition--can be achieved through massive catechesis. A theoretical basis derived from Erickson's theory of ego development and the spiritual theologies of Nouwen and Macquarrie were used to critique and design a program for junior high students.  Breakaway, a program of prayer and meditation (by Mark Link) was adapted and implemented with a group of sixty-one junior highs over a period of twenty-eight weeks. The program was evaluated by questionnaires and interviews with students and professional educators.  Although the students did not increase their frequency of prayer, their understanding was broadened, they were using a greater variety of prayer forms, and showed a willingness to pray with other people.
