The author taught Survey of the Old Testament at East Texas State University in the fall of 1985.  The course design included an understanding of the Old Testament as a canon of liberation and the teaching model focused on the development of a dialogical relationship between the students and the material. In response to this question the author formulated 'The Inquirer's Catechism' to measure the phenomenon. Over a two year period, the author taught a series of structured catechetical courses to four groups of inquirers.  He tested all participants on their perceived faith relationships with God at the beginning and the end of the instructions with a values clarification test, a diagrammed drawing project, and a self-report questionnaire. The author analyzed the statistics and noted all the signs of transformational process. They acknowledge that the program helps them to pray more sincerely, to deal constructively with conflict and to develop leadership skills for ministry. It suggests a way to teach students so that they and their teachers share each others visions and stories.  The methods of study and research include: a) planning a series of lessons and b) teaching sessions while under supervision. It evaluates the 'Perspectives in Feminist Theology' curriculum which is prepared as a group-guided study for the Perkins School of Theology.  It evaluates Groome's 'shared praxis' approach and its potential for effectively presenting material which is 'engaged' in the cause of the full participation and empowerment of women in church and society.  The thesis is that upon completion of the curriculum, the student and participating group have an introduction to various models of feminist theology and are prepared to continue the feminist theological task through further study and personal participation. Conclusions are based on evaluations of participants in the study and from a Perkins School of Theology senior who worked with the currriculum. He concludes that teaching laity motives and helping recruit laity for ministry is possible in Indonesia.  Teaching must deal with believing, trusting, and doing.  The approach must be task oriented.
