He conducted five training sessions with three spouses and took each spouse to visit two other bereaved spouses.  The project included the trainees' views about the development of a lay grief counselor network. Special attention is focused on how churches can help through pastoral care by clergy and lay helpers, the funeral service, and Christian education.
