This project studies this decrease through a review of the history of the Korean military chaplaincy.  It uses questionnaires to discover the current conditions in the military chaplaincy and adapts this information to the situation in the PCK. Chapters 3 and 4 contain a historical survey of the oppression of the Taiwanese people, an analysis of the psychological effects of oppression, an examination of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, and a recognition of the need for political involvement. Chapters 6 and 7 describe some current programs designed to strengthen identity and build confidence. The project reviews the biblical, historical, theological, administrative, and modern-day applications of this doctrine.  The author interviews lay and clergy staff and distributes questionnaires to congregations at six midwestern Presbyterian Churches.  The conclusions of the project and demographic studies show that the trend towards more paid lay church staffs will accelerate. This project points out the misuse of hymns in worship. Korean ministers do not know much about church music, worship hymns, gospel hymns and gospel songs, or about the relationship between hymns and theology. Missionaries to Korea used many gospel hymns to spread Christianity. The theory is tested in the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the state of New South Wales.  Data for the study is obtained by a mailed questionnaire and is analyzed with the SPSS-X.  Results indicate a strong trend toward conservatism/fundamentalism.  More conservative ministers experience the highest levels of conflict with laity and non-church people. Research includes a review of pertinent theological, psychological and pastoral care literature; an interview with Cecil G Osborne, founder of Primal Integration therapy; and questionnaires given to former patients, therapists and pastoral counselors.  The project includes graphs which compare the theological and psychological responses to the research questions raised.
