Chapters include the justification for the church's participation in the program, the actual planning and implementation of the volunteer staff, and final evaluations of the effort. The study developed a questionnaire which enlisted Portuguese speakers in an eight-week program to evaluate a weekly broadcast of gospel messages.  The study sought to measure attitudinal change, content assimilation, and possible future involvement in Protestant activities. Results were: attitudinal change: 30 percent indicated a positive shift; content assimilation: a majority indicated understanding and retention; possible future involvement: 46 percent indicated interest in Protestant activities. Thirteen laypersons were trained during seven sessions in the principles of leadership, small group discipleship, group building, and the inductive Bible study method.  These principles were applied to the existing adult Bible study program.  Evaluation procedures revealed a positive move from a basic lecture style of teaching to a relational style of teaching. The project included 3 phases: planning, preparation and program.  During the final phase, the project director, his nine project assistants, and a trained corps of thirty volunteers from the church made approximately seventy ministry contacts to the church's military families during periods of job-related separation.
