The project recognized that the campus community can become the training ground for future leadership in the local church.  The theological foundation for the project was based upon God's gifting of individuals and their subsequent service in the body of Christ, taken from Ephesians 4:11-13. The project utilized a series of questions that enabled the student leaders to evaluate themselves, their group, and their peers in the areas of task accomplishment and personal development.  Student leaders entered into a covenant relationship with the project director to accomplish this task and to develop personally.  Measuring instruments, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and FIRO-B, were used to provide a profile of each individual involved in the project. Various evaluations concluded the 18-month project that took place at the University of Washington in Seattle. A historical background of the Middle East is discussed as well as need for understanding cultural and psychological presuppositions. He notes a contemporary waning of covenantalism and a skewing of voluntarism into expressive individualism.  In response to this individualism, two practices for a reclamation of covenantalism among Southern Baptists is presented: congregational covenant-making and covenantal consultation.  A model of consultation is developed which is congruent with the covenant heritage. The study has four sections: 1) a biblical and theological understanding of evangelism; 2) a survey of Hinduism in Trinidad; 3) a survey of selected literature; and 4) the development of a proposed evangelistic strategy utilizing diversified methods. It utilized three pretests and one posttest.  Each student was given the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator test, the LEAD test, and a knowledge test.  The knowledge test was repeated as a posttest.  The pretest results were used to place students in task assignments which seemed to match their personality preferences.  A curriculum of twelve lessons on various areas of leadership was developed and taught during the project.  Each student applied the concepts taught in the lessons to field experiences with his or her peers.  A personal debriefing session with the project director was held weekly to apply and interpret the student's performance in the field experiences.  The project seemed to indicate that consideration of personality type is helpful in determining  task assignments. Also the combination of training, personal instruction and field experience was deemed effective and was appreciated by the student leaders. A training program in public evangelism was designed and implemented for a selected group of lay members of the Central Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church of Milwaukee.  They received theoretical and practical instruction during a seven-week evangelistic campaign.
