Seven persons participated in the nine-week study, the first two being didactic sessions that covered worship and preaching.  They then participated in a Lenten Bible study-seminar of the New Common Lectionary texts. From the study, the author gained insights for the sermon. Utilizing a control group, the author conducted a pre-test and post-test. Twelve to fifteen year old youth were invited to participate in eight two-hour sessions.  Four of the eight sessions also included parents of the youth. With basic training, a group of lay caregivers could fulfill the biblical injunction to encourage others, thereby relieving some of the counseling burden pastors now carry .  A group of twelve carefully selected members of Tiffany Fellowship Assembly of God were trained in specific caregiving skills around an 'encouraging' model of counseling. Bi-polar seminars and relationship studies were conducted with ministry and support staff personnel.  Measurement of trust instruments were filled out before and after the bi-polar studies and the results compared. The methodology can provide teachers effective ways to address student needs and encourage participation in the learning process.  Improved teachers' self-esteem will result from new skill and pastoral support. A three part methodology was designed that allowed teachers freedom to construct lesson plans for their specific class. Three one-hour training sessions introduced teachers to the methodology;  thirteen weeks of on-the-job training completed the training period.  Teachers were able effectively to address student needs, encourage participation, and improve their self-esteem.
