Training effectiveness was measured with multiple choice tests, and pre/posttesting, resulting in an 88 percent increase in team members' understanding of their role in new member assimilation.  The project leader's effectiveness as an instructor and 'ministry sharer' was measured by a scaled Instructor Evaluation instrument and a partial Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis. Very few of the Hispanic Southern Baptist churches have a planned evangelism strategy.  Lack of know-how and knowledge of available resources are the main causes.  This project is designed to create awareness of methods and resources available in the field of personal and mass evangelism and to include spiritual preparation. The project also addresses the issue of leadership training. A core of strategy advisors were trained and they will serve as consultants to other churches and their associations. The goals and objectives were designed to be reached within three to five years.  The goals included the establishment of reachable ministry goals, improvement of the Bible teaching program, greater involvement in outreach, and greater love for fellow members.  The congregation was given opportunity, through open forums, to give valuable insight to the planning. The results were approved by the congregation's acceptance of the Guidebook, a new Glorieta plan to improve teacher training and the relocation of the church by 1992. Twenty-two Southern Baptist churches minister in this area.  The population of the area has continued to increase, but the attendance in the churches has decreased.  This project describes the development and administration of a strategy for equipping five of the churches to grow by congregationalizing the retirees.  The writer trained and assisted the pastors and leaders of the five participating churches to start retiree fellowship groups. Its premise is God's intention that churches grow inwardly, if not numerically.  Purposes were to develop a methodology for renewal and growth in the target churches and establish stronger ministry roles for pastors.  The project, experienced by four churches, involved research of church and community data.  In a church retreat people studied the information, identified needs, established goals and action plans. Congregations received and approved the plans and pursued immediate goals for three months. Supervised subgroups of the congregation met in homes, called 'homegroups.'  The homegroup leaders went through leadership training touching on areas such as theology for homegroups, biblical fellowship, crowd breakers, church outreach, sharing your testimony, servanthood, biblical caring, and prayer in small groups.  Another subgroup called marriage-obics was instituted for young marrieds first, and then opened to all who were married.  The strength of this ministry was in its practicality and spontaneity.  Measurement of success was made by written evaluation of the participants.
