Part one consisted of developing a curriculum that helped the young person to know Christ and to make him known.  Part two used pre-test/post-test instruments to evaluate the success of the newly developed material on groups of high school and college students led by trained youth ministers. Qualitative, feminist methodology was used to design a process which included storytelling, theological reflection and social analysis.  Participating in the research were women from Roman Catholic and Protestant denominations. The thesis documents the breakthrough experience in the lives of these women as they name the causes and consequences of their growing feminist self-awareness and the relationship of their self-awareness to their own spiritual journey.  The theory of Bernard Lonergan's self-appropriation of the human subject undergirds this study.  This theoretical framework shapes the process of theological reflection used with the women and sets the scene for an understanding of emerging consciousness in women that is liberating.  A feminist methodology is employed which situates the research in the experience of the researcher.  The findings of this study confirm that there is an emerging feminist consciousness among Catholic women which needs to be nurtured by conscientized and sensitive ministers. Ten men and women in the Dalton District of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church committed four weeks to the project.  The district superintendent was the convener, a co-participant, and provided leadership by precept and example.  Sessions included theological foundations of wellness, a medical evaluation of each participant, identification of healthy eating and exercise habits, and application of learnings to the local church and community.  All participants met at least one of their goals relating to diet and/or exercise. Many part-time pastors and church employees receive financial support, but spiritual and emotional support is lacking.  Bivocational ministers and their spouses were enlisted to participate in a support group.  The purpose of the group was to guide participants in developing supportive relationships with one another. As a result, participants were to grow professionally and personally.  The Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis and interviews with a professional counselor provided objective data for evaluation.  Case studies were used to help group members analyze and theologically reflect on each experience. The chaplain asked fifty-two students to form nine counseling groups focusing on their interpersonal conflicts.  In six sessions they were trained to use an ethical model to resolve their conflicts.
