Questionnaires were sent to 9 Jesuit priests in each of 28 Jesuit colleges in the US, as well as to 6 lay professors and administrators in the same institutions.  Survey results showed markedly low degrees of burnout among the total Jesuit clergy and lay personnel.  Because some psychiatrists have lately treated burnout as an addiction, they found natural medical means ineffective for curing burnout. Chapter 3 examined the program design; the process of invitation, challenges, goals, preparation, testing documents and consultants were analyzed.  Chapter 4 presented the program as implemented.  The conference results revealed enhancement of pastoral care. While previous generations took religious affiliation for granted, the postwar generation shows significant differences with the preceding generations.  This fact became obvious when the postwar generation involvement with the church declined during their adolescence and early adulthood.  For this and other reasons, the postwar generation poses unique problems which an orientation must address.
