As Korean youths grow up in the United States, they become Americanized, creating cultural and generational problems between them and their parents. Most problems originate from changing family roles, the generation gap, cultural problem/shock, language problems, different values, identity crises, and conflicting attitudes toward church affiliation. Through understanding of the generational and cultural gaps, and with the help of appropriate ministry, these youths and adults can rediscover their own identity and redefine their life work."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128080729767937,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:54:07.986Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:16:38Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:57:03Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"625ab95d-661e-4909-b0a7-470ec8de135f","accessControl_ssim":["c76a4f19-385e-4df0-91e3-0d9b25a64cf0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Women in ministry: the presbytery of St Augustine's educational role"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:16:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:00:49Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d9c8e07e-25ff-47bb-ac49-4ebe4796a258"],"hasLease_ssim":["6ce39423-9838-4f62-ae2d-db88def4b75e"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert C Worley"],"year_tesim":["1991"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Michael E Williams"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Women in church work","Women clergy","Presbytery of Saint Augustine","Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study acknowledges the impact on the church of an increasing number of women who are entering the ministry. Friendship is a minor theme in Scripture and Christian history. Jesus moves all disciples into friendship in the eschatological advance from servanthood. The challenge is to reclaim friendship as a symbol of salvation. In the church's primary activity, its worship, commitment to friendship can satisfy people's need for intimacy and encourage a climate of hospitality. Research shows friendship is a theological expectation in Christian community. Interventions indicate friendship is possible as a value and as a reality among a congregation of worshippers."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128672716980224,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:03:32.549Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:16:08Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:00:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a6d858a3-36ce-4fb1-91af-5824cc86b8ac","accessControl_ssim":["cc96fe14-63b3-4757-b2a6-da43b5d6583c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Predicting minister satisfaction: testing the Holland Theory of Matches in a ministry situation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:16:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:58:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4ece924a-380d-4472-ba4e-f1368a5efb6e"],"hasLease_ssim":["7e32ead6-9fca-41a3-8e69-afc9d7fbe8b6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Harding University"],"advisor_tesim":["Joel Johnson"],"year_tesim":["1991"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Barry A Jones"],"keyword_tesim":["Tests and measurements in religion"],"publisher_tesim":["Harding University Graduate School of Religion"],"subject_tesim":["Clergy","Job satisfaction","Personality and occupation"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Holland's Self-directed search was applied in a ministry situation to determine if satisfaction could be predicted based on personality congruence with the congregation.
