The people were then led in developing a plan for ministry to their changing community. A task force was created by the church to oversee the planning and implementation of ministry actions.  Specific actions taken included a vacation Bible school, a transportation ministry, and a community interaction event. Four films were used to deal with four topics. The films were: When Harry Met Sally, Driving Miss Daisy, Ordinary People, and Terms of Endearment.  The films chosen dealt with human sexuality, racism, dysfunctional families, and death, respectively.  Biblical research was done in the area of the church and images.  Sociological and psychological research was done related to students and the four topics.  Testing was done with a control group of 12 students and a group of at-large students. The text includes research and reflection on the theological meanings of personhood, stress, self-esteem and locus of control.  The project employed a treatment effects format, documenting change with scales measuring self-esteem, locus of control and level of stress. It is directed to the church leadership of the Africa Inland Church (Kenya), but the information is applicable to the church at large. The underlying theme of the dissertation is spiritual leadership as demonstrated in the Bible.  The paper was given to two readers, a seminary professor and a senior pastor, to evaluate on biblical credibility and literary standard.
