The project employs historical, experimental and descriptive research methods with two control groups and an experimental group, evaluating experimental group participants' growth in four areas. This idea of giving back what already belongs to God redefines the twentieth-century concept of ownership.  Christians are stewards of all God has given.  With a historical perspective on fund raising, both from the church and parachurch organizations, the project develops a practical and appropriate plan for raising money into the twenty-first century. A telephone survey solicits data from 169 churches, and a random sample of 30 churches are personally interviewed using an extended survey instrument.  The project subjects responses to exploratory and inferential analyses, using the multiple and stepwise regressions. The project examined the literature of premarital counseling, determined through surveys what pastors in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod South and North Wisconsin Districts are presently using in their ministries, and determined through surveys what premarital counseling the married members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church had. This research led to development and implementation of a six-session premarital counseling program and a manual covering six topics and designed for couples to keep throughout their marriage. This project proposes that the example of church planting by training a national to pastor a new church, coupled with biblical analysis of discipling, yields a pattern for leadership training. Theories of nonformal education from the fields of psychology and education reinforce nonformal training on the field.  Internship as developed in this project involves one year of learning language, culture, and religions integrated into responsible planting of a church. Among them are three large and well-known churches--Nairobi Pentecostal Church, founded by Canadian missionaries; St Andrew Presbyterian Church, founded by Scottish missionaries; and All Saints Anglican Cathedral, founded by English missionaries.  While elite, multiethnic Christian national members of these churches, many of whom are beneficiaries of the long missionary presence, begin to catch the missionary vision, it is necessary to explore and examine, on the basis of Christology, some of the factors that have kept them from a missionary vocation.
