Laotians who convert to Christianity are considered to be traitors to their family, their country, and their king.  To be a good Laotian, one must be a faithful Buddhist throughout life.  The author, who is Laotian, has developed a method of presenting the gospel, which contextualizes Laotians' understanding of God. Family ties are the most important factor in Lao culture and custom. Therefore, the author used the concept of God as the Creator and Father of mankind, which led 32 out of 50 people to the Lord. The project utilizes qualitative methodology as three clergy women survivors of domestic violence are interviewed and complete written questionnaires.  The results indicate that the relationship with God, which the woman experiences during the time of the abuse, is harsh and judgmental. Moving beyond the abuse, her God-image, the relationship with God, and her sense of self is transformed. Second, a series of five sermons and five growth seminars were conducted with some married couples and persons contemplating marriage. Third, pre- and post-questionnaires were distributed in order to assess the understanding of what is being discussed.  From the comments that were made, the program seemed to have been a success.  Couples expressed improved mutual understanding and a desire to learn more.  The participants reached a better understanding of mutual intimacy, effective communication, mutual forgiveness, and marital maturation. Confirmation can introduce youth to systematic theology/ecclesiology and be an initiatory vehicle into adult faith and service.  Resources are limited in rural settings, so this project tried to expand limits while remaining pragmatic.  The author, drawing upon his own experience in rural churches and from a broad range of sources, developed a 12-week course (God and Friends) which aims to be a concise, simple-to-use, yet comprehensive 'primer' on Christian doctrine and practice. The author studied other Wisconsin Synod adult instruction manuals, books in Christian doctrine and the Bible.  He also drew on his experience as a teacher of the Christian faith to gather ideas for a course.  He then wrote, field tested and extensively revised an adult instruction course. Failure to grasp and appreciate these can create unnecessary barriers to meaningful ministry.  This project chiefly used questionnaires to study attributes of divorced members and pastors and ascertain differences in perceptions and propose ways to build bridges to the divorced.  Perceptions do differ as to the impact of internal and external factors influencing divorced decisions and actions.  Successful ministry to the divorced must take into consideration these emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions. First, this study establishes the essence of Lutheran liturgical worship. Next, it examines how the Lutheran Reformers responded to needs for changes in worship.  How are pastors today attempting to resolve the issue?  How do we evaluate these endeavours?
