They cannot employ all the pastoral, spiritual, and emotional caregivers that are needed.  The model in this project and paper expands upon the 'wholistic healing' of mind, body and spirit, using trained clergy and lay volunteers, recruited through community religious resources. Restructuring of a department of pastoral and spiritual care can offer Spirit-filled volunteers, encouragement, administrative support, training, and supervision.  This benefits not only the health care provider but also the clients, their family, friends, staff personnel and the community they serve. There were different combinations of study and research used. They range from networking with other pastoral and spiritual care persons  who work in medical facilities, reading some of the latest materials on what experienced persons in this discipline were researching, studying, and writing.  Much of the project was also a result of 'on the job training,' drawing upon twenty-five years of background in pastoral, spiritual and emotional care.  A conclusion reached is that clergy and lay volunteers, by reason of their baptism, are willing to assist health care providers in offering pastoral, spiritual and emotional care with patients and their families and staff personnel. The fundamental premise of this paper was to know God more fully, is to love God more deeply, which results in serving God more faithfully. It begins by outlining the theological basis for the study. The project then contrasts western and non-western worldviews, detailing some of the assumptions underlying each one, and comparing western worldview constructs with the mysticism of Java. Following an extended case study there are nineteen interactive reflective studies on specific themes related to spiritual conflicts. Missionaries and missionary candidates evaluated the interactive studies. The project makes use of relevant literature, materials related to the crisis, and interviews with involved personnel to answer this question. Double binds occur when one is internally conflicted and not able to turn any direction without negative consequences.  For episcope' one double bind is absence of a shared authority.  Another is the presence of a divided constituency.  The third is the absence of a sense of God or the holy purpose for the work.
