The training tool is called 'TELL' which stand for 'teaching exchanged-life living'. TELL is unique in that (1) it utilizes the Law (Ten Commandments) in showing non-Christians their need for a savior; (2) it utilizes tests for true salvation from the book of 1 John to help people discern if their profession of Christianity is real; and (3) it emphasizes our identity in Christ in discipleship before emphasizing spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer, and witnessing. The project intersects church revitalization, missions, and biblical leadership.  Its purpose was to empower a small group of lay people in the Hungarian Reformed Church (Columbus, Ohio) through a seven month training program to promote the revitalization of their congregation.  Participants showed the greatest changes in their personal spiritual lives, in short-term planning for growth, and in formulating non-negotiable pillars of the church. This qualitative research considered the aforementioned aspects in terms of human formation, deformation, reformation, and transformation. The situation is an inner city, intergenerational congregation.  The complication is in the question, 'Is there a design or style of preaching that reaches all generations and ultimately strengthens the community?'  The resolution is in the thesis statement:  the celebrative design in preaching is a vehicle that will allow the preacher the opportunity to preach to all five geenrations. Many current discipleship methods produce powerless Christians giving cognitive assent to biblical principles while living in discord with their stated beliefs.  The author attempted to establish personal relationships as the primary method of assimilating and discipling new converts at First Baptist Church.
