The process of reflective, constructive critique is based on the concept of theopraxis via John Douglas Hall.  The study sessions seek to discern mid-range  principles and engage the participants in a both a self-reflective process and personal vision building process.  The goal is to enhance the participant's identity as a child of God and his or her role in God's economy. The overall goal was to strengthen marriages through marriage enrichment and to assist younger couples in strengthening their marriage through a mentoring process.  The teaching methods used during the sessions were lecture, group discussions, questionnaires, participant interaction, and take-home assignments.  Initially five couples attended the first session and four other couples joined the group beginning in session two.  A study of the written evaluations reveals that the goals were reached. Participants met weekly for three months, presented verbatim and reflected on how they were learning to share the vision.  The group discovered that developing shared vision is an ongoing process requiring deliberate reflection and accountability.  Leaders seeking to do so must comprehend the vision profoundly, be genuinely committed to it and learn how to refer to the vision statement explicitly in all aspects of their ministry. In Britain they widely hold that as age, church background and Christian commitment diminish, a positive response increases to topical (as compared to expository) preaching and the presence of multimedia. Eight sermons were preached, four in each style with multimedia as a variable. Eighty people completed questionnaires after each sermon, with twelve follow-up interviews. The research produced no conclusive data, but there were clear indications of preference for topical sermons as age reduced and expository sermons as age increased. No patterns were discernable regarding multimedia. The project included selecting and enlisting forty-five facilitators for the visitor retention program. The training lasted six weeks and the project was the evaluated. The training module and the facilitators' growth through the training sessions were all evaluated.  Several avenues of evaluation were used including: expert evaluation, pretest/posttest, surveys, and pastoral reflection. The trained church members will then be equipped to have an ongoing, balanced evangelism ministry in their community.  The training curriculum will cover the three-fold aspects of prayer, witnessing, and follow-up, for balanced evangelism.  A comparison will be made between the participating churches as to the anthropological differences and the effectiveness of this ministry, in the areas of member involvement, conversions, baptisms, and new believers completing the follow-up materials. This project should demonstrate that a church could have an effective and balanced evangelism ministry regardless of location, financial resources, and anthropological differences. In-depth interviews were conducted prior to the project to ascertain the congregation's attitudes and understandings about the sacraments.  Responses to four sermons in which sacraments played an integral part were examined. A small group of parishioners gave feedback after each sermon. These interviews and surveys revealed that the sacraments have high emotional content for believers, that they stimulate memory, senses and emotion. Chapter 2 details the essential elements of Community Based Spiritual Care.  It cites situations and skills one needs for such care and suggests educational models for teaching its practice.  The chapter ends with several brief summaries of emerging and developing programs of Community Based Spiritual Care.
