Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Michigan City, Indiana. The model designed consisted of pre- and post-test survey, four teaching/preaching series, contextual associates survey form and a ministry outreach sign-up sheet. This action research model involved both the researcher as well as the congregation as participants to affect changes in attitudes toward social issues. A youth-oriented culture views the growing, aging population as a burden not a blessing; that as the number of older adults grows, so will the problems associated with aging (chapter 1). In the context of the church community, the younger adults viewed an aging church population as the decline of a source of gifts and abilities, and a drain upon church resources as older adults' need for ministry increases. The specific Scripture for the basis and focus of this project is Psalm 92, vs 12-14. This Scripture text suggests that older adults, 'planted in the house of the Lord,' in the church, still can bear fruit in old age and have much to offer in the way of resources for the life and mission of the church. This project sought to challenge the myths and misconceptions that suggest older adults are a burden and present a barrier to church renewal (chapter 3). A preliminary questionnaire revealed that those most active in the church and generous with their temporal and spiritual gifts are the older adults. The Scriptures reveal that God does not discriminate on the basis of age when persons are called to use their gifts for the building up and renewal of the faith community (chapter 4), nor does one retire from their Christian vocation until they are called to God's eternal home. Thirty-seven mainline Christians, from various denominations, participated in this project. Based on the theological foundation of church planting provided by the Bible and the background of Chinese immigrants in the Greater Vancouver region, the purpose of this research is to explore the principles and methods of church planting  I  the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter one discusses the biblical basis of church planting, including God's plan for salvation, the mission of Jesus Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Chapter two explores the different facets of church planting. Chapter three introduces the history, background, and social aspects of Chinese immigration in the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter four investigates the process of church planting for three representative churches. Chapter five uses the Evangelical Formosan Church of Greater Vancouver as an example of church planting to analyze the present situation and future direction of church planting in the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter six deals with the actual process of church planting. Chapter seven analyzes the distribution of Chinese churches from the statistical data of the Chinese population in the Greater Vancouver region. It also discovers what Arkansas United Methodist Echo Boomers report to be their own felt needs and values.  A researcher designed survey questionnaire method with a purposive sample was used to observe the opinions of youth workers.  A discussion format involving three focus groups of Echo Boomers made up the second portion of the study. The use of the word evangelism is examined along with its relationship to Christian education, Christian identity, American culture, and justice issues. The theological writings of Jurgen Moltmann offer the theological premise for the relating of drama and evangelism.  the author then composes four short plays on evangelism for use in a church.
