Franklin Baptist Church that were made during childhood in order to ascertain whether or not these professions of faith were authentic salvation experiences. A biblical examination is made of conversion, its application to children, and the possibility of false professions of faith. Childhood professions of faith are examined from psychological,  sociological, and historical points of view. Social research is used to determine the authenticity of the professions of faith that the congregation of Mt. Franklin Baptist Church made during childhood. Biblical models of leadership training are examined from both the Old Testament (Ex 18:19-23) and the New Testament (Eph 4:11-16). Both the negative and the positive aspects of leadership are also discussed. A survey is presented that was administered to leaders, potential leaders and past volunteers. The survey was designed to reveal areas of need for leadership training. Finally the project is evaluated to reveal insights on how to enlist and meet the needs of volunteer leaders. The project consisted of ministry during a Western Pacific Deployment aboard USS Shiloh (CG-67) from August 17, 2000, until February 17, 2001. The project leader developed a program consisting of worship, religious education, community outreach, counseling, and deck-plate ministry for a mixed gendered crew that consisted of 430 sailors, chief petty officers, and commissioned officers. As a result, the crew experienced the free exercise of religion and a community of sharing. The project consisted of conception, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. A major emphasis of the project involved developing a theology and theory of spiritual direction that would communicate to Pentecostal pastors. This was presented in a seminar to a select group of Assemblies of God ministers from the San Francisco Bay Area from January to April of 2001. Though there are Orthodox people in a number of regions of the world, the focus of this project will be on people with Orthodox background who are currently living in Eastern Europe or who have immigrated from countries in Eastern Europe. The project work will begin with extensive research of the beliefs of people of Eastern orthodox background. The research will primarily be conducted through a study of the literature available on Eastern Orthodoxy, but will also involve interviews with current and former Orthodox adherents. Two means will be used to inform and train evangelical Christians in how to witness to people of Eastern Orthodox background. First, the writer will develop, lead, and evaluate a seminar on witnessing to Orthodox people. Seminar participants will be issued a manual that will reinforce the material taught. Second, the writer will revise the manual based on evaluation and feedback from seminar participants.
