It also seeks to glean how those given to united prayer motivate others. The method of research included a thorough study of Scripture, an intensive review of literature, personal observations, and extensive interviews. The interviews included six key experts, as well as three focus groups. The results of the research revealed that relationships were the key theme in encouraging united prayer. Anyone who wishes to motivate Christians to united prayer must develop environments where believers can build relationships. Spiritual renewal was also significant."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e57e5218-1d34-47f5-b1a5-b84efbc9e61f"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130889223143424,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:38:46.374Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:39:46Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:41:37Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"81963d9b-72b5-4595-ac2a-1e2f857de486","accessControl_ssim":["5f61cc5b-bd7f-47bf-a281-f9b5ffc563e9"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The impact of the long-term pastorate"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:39:45Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:57:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["16846e10-8392-47fe-a118-708d6af4a7e1"],"hasLease_ssim":["3e536d05-ea9e-4b43-9221-e899c5bc1e77"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Donald C Guthrie"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Dale B Welden"],"keyword_tesim":["Clergy--Performance standards"],"publisher_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Presbyterian Church in America"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this study was to discover the impact of long-term pastorates on the life of the pastor, the local church, and the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) denomination. Twelve pastors, who had served churches for at least twenty years, were interviewed. In addition, a study was done of the biblical teaching on the role of the pastor. From the research, I found a positive impact on the pastor's family, the church, and the PCA denomination. I found three major areas of impact through the study: a) the opportunity for stability, b) the opportunity for deeper ministry, and c) the opportunity for a broader ministry. Further study in several areas could enhance our understanding of the long-term pastorate. Inverviewing elders from churches where long-term pastors have served would give a different perspective. Also the perspective of the wife or children of long-term pastors would lend insight to family dynamics. A study that follows the career of a long-term pastor would shed still more light on the impact upon the church and future ministry. Finally, if one were to study the type of pastor serving a single congregation over the long term, focussing on temperament, talents, habits, style, etc., it could be useful in identifying qualities advantageous to a healthy long-term pastorate."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e57e5218-1d34-47f5-b1a5-b84efbc9e61f"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131072865501184,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:41:41.509Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:39:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:41:27Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9d2689df-162d-4ffc-bab2-20de42558087","accessControl_ssim":["6fa178e5-06e4-4c19-bc84-c17f8d30b0af"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Enhancing the worship life of the congregation: a model for adding a new worship service in the church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:39:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:44:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e1f185bb-8671-41d7-98e5-fcf0ff559edd"],"hasLease_ssim":["dbf70b7c-df15-4ffb-bee6-11f4efd1d86f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John E Mehl"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Daniel M Corll"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Public worship"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The planning and implementation of a case study model was introduced as an experiment in faith. The ensuing analysis revealed both the personal cost to clergy and their families as well as the setting aside of much conventional wisdom as to what currently causes conflict in the church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127159777001472,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:39:29.697Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:38:47Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:47:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8ef776d1-64e8-48a7-80d5-98b1292fd0f2","accessControl_ssim":["8343f101-bbaf-486d-9864-8da1c04ca76e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Religious education at the margins: nurturing hope among women"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:38:47Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:19:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["81249022-39d7-4d07-82a0-ff6b229e8fc9"],"hasLease_ssim":["cc22c0b8-1396-4f5b-b7bb-e224bfee6a81"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Regis College (Toronto, ON)"],"advisor_tesim":["Lorna M Bowman"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Gertrude Ann Jocksch"],"publisher_tesim":["Regis College"],"subject_tesim":["Religious education of adults","Women--Religious life"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This action in ministry explores the experience of hope in the lives of women who live with mental illness. I began this research project confident that Christianity is a faith tradition that supports and fosters hope and wholeness among people. Using the theoretical foundations of adult religious educators and the insights of Christian feminist liberation theologians, I facilitated a spirituality gathering of women at Our Place, Community of Hope. I chose to use Christian feminist theologians because these women have influenced my life profoundly, nurturing my hope and giving me courage to own my place in church and society. My greatest desire for the women who gathered together was that they develop a deepening sense of hope as they learn of a God who loves them unconditionally. In my research I wanted to learn about the experience of hope in women who participated in the gatherings as well as to determine if their hope was nurtured by these gatherings. To do this I used the question: How does adult education nurture hope among women at Our Place. The findings illuminate the fact that hope lies deep within the consciousness of these women and that the women's spirituality gathering played a momentous role in nurturing their hope."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127681462435840,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:47:47.215Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:38:18Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:09:47Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b9388e09-765e-439f-a89e-5c97523f2d68","accessControl_ssim":["f008855d-2aec-4567-b4cd-0b68015d9a7f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Vertical living in a horizontal world: navigating toward a constructive public theology"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:38:17Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:28:04Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["84e7b937-f7c2-4fc9-a321-a734311200d2"],"hasLease_ssim":["0bc8c800-97bf-43bd-9cdf-4a5a12398e8f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Walter Sundberg"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Timothy R Eichler"],"publisher_tesim":["Luther Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Military chaplains","Pastoral theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study explores the development of a tolerant asymmetrical ambassadorship (TAA) as constructive public theology based upon the Chaplain Corps, United States Navy. The topic is explored through the researcher's experience and theology and the theological tradition of the church, specifically the United Church of Canada, and using a qualitative research methodology. The specifics of the process involve a preacher basing his sermons on the Old Testament Lectionary texts for four weeks of the Epiphany season. Both the preacher and the congregation then reflect, through written and verbal responses, on the experience. The researcher's assumption prior to the thesis work was that the Old Testament is not being preached often or well enough in the United Church of Canada, and the data collected validates the assumption. The thesis then concluded with a discussion of the factors contributing to that lack in Old Testament preaching in the United Church of Canada and some future possibilities for change and transformation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719769568444416,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:55:20.966Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":409,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
