However, very few church workers have opportunity to receive formal teaching about the truth of the gospel. As a result, the foundation of the faith of the believers becomes terribly weak and unstable. The goal of this project is to teach church workers in China the basic truth of the gospel in a Chinese context for personal evangelism. It will seek to contextualize the truth of the gospel with the unique characteristics of ancient Chinese written characters, which amazingly contain the stories of the gospel. Church workers will learn the knowledge and skills of utilizing a figurative and factual way to share the gospel with Chinese-contextualized messages. Through this evangelistically contextualized approach, vast numbers of Chinese people will be able to understand the gospel and be willing to accept it."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133249312915456,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:16:17.131Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:29:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:03:36Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"761acf91-5537-4a69-9208-8f3421328769","accessControl_ssim":["2127c596-67ea-4d66-b382-de22f76ee9f8"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["How to grow a sense of incarnational presence within the church for the work of its ministries"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:29:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:36:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c6653943-57ad-4af4-a656-a98c4f747ce2"],"hasLease_ssim":["8af33230-f39f-4c9e-9ab2-8b133f8c3d52"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["United Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Dwight H Judy"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Joe W Ward"],"publisher_tesim":["United Theological Seminary (OH)"],"subject_tesim":["Spiritual formation","Lay Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study of training Christians on discovering spiritual gifts, understanding the working of the Holy Spirit, and knowledge of the incarnational presence of Jesus Christ was implemented at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, Madison, Alabama. A high rate of pastoral turnover and geographic isolation necessitate the training of lay preachers to meet this need. This project equipped a group of laymen from a large urban church to preach in the small rural churches of Oklahoma. The laymen were trained to understand and appreciate biblical narrative. they learned basic storytelling skills. They worked to construct and deliver sermons that respected the traditional/oral communication keys of stories, relationships, and proverbial sayings. The learners developed through classroom instruction and the practical experience of preaching in small rural congregations. the project produced five lay preachers ready to supply a pressing need."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132506505871360,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:04:28.735Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:28:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:47:37Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"05a2f7d8-2df6-460c-bd5e-b7b0684d038f","accessControl_ssim":["08b379d2-5109-4d00-a2d2-fe1afe96be7f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing a marketing strategy for the Dallas Baptist Association annual mission offering"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:28:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:16:51Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8d8506f5-d662-45b7-b97e-4bf49f46c48f"],"hasLease_ssim":["4e0178fd-e5b6-4c82-a092-016fd3b3cf32"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William Caldwell","Judy Stamey"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["R W Martin"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Missions--Finance","Dallas Baptist Association"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project leader developed a project to encourage Dallas Baptist Association (DBA) churches to support local mission needs by participating in the annual mission offering of the association.
