The context of this study is First United Methodist Church, Boerne, Texas.  The intervention used to achieve this goal is 'Igniting Ministry,' the denomination's national media campaign.  The findings were that this test congregation far exceeded national studies and local surveys, focus groups, and interviews. Exercises in team building, goal setting, process mapping, surveys, brain-storm and planning sessions will be used with team members. Research and information from visits to observe other strategic enrollment management plans will provide valuable input. The project will not be complete without a plan for assessment and improvement on a routine basis. The long-term goal is for seminary administrators to approve of the strategic enrollment plan developed by the team and to allocate physical space and financial resources for a 'student services center' where the latest technological approaches to enrollment services can be utilized in a friendly, student centered atmosphere. What impact did that appropriation have on the experience of pastoral burnout? The seven male volunteers experienced burnout while serving as pastors in Wesleyan denominations. Case studies were done using one-on-one interviews. Eight women were selected on the basis of their potential to contribute to the study. Assessment was done on the basis of their relationships with their father, the struggles they had in coming to know God as Father, and what proved helpful to them. The literature review includes research in the fields of family life, spiritual formation, the role of the father in child development, the process of healing childhood pain, and Christian education. There are biblical principles given from the scriptures and how they inform us about a relationship with God as our Father. The ultimate goal was to describe the experience of living fatherless. Participants in study were divided into four focus groups, attending nine sessions of spiritual direction using curriculum in A spiritual formation workbook by James Bryan Smith.  A self-designes questionnaire was used to measure effects of spiritual formation in the congregation.
