The student was then to present the strategy to the administration of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS).  The project was to develop a strategy that would increase the likelihood that graduates of NOBTS would become financial supporters of the institution.  Among the hundreds of thousands of titles that have been published that related to fund-raising in higher education, little material was available that was specific to this area of research.  This area of research was concentrated on how other institutions of higher education were developing currently enrolled students so they will eventually become financial supporters of the institution.  A group of development directors at select schools were interviewed by the project director. Each director was asked the same series of questions that related to how they raised money.  Each was asked specifically about how they were attempting to instill a sense of responsibility for the institution in their currently enrolled student body. Opening with the possibilities of Multiple Intelligences in the adult classroom, the second chapter examines how the MI theory functions within current materials.  The third chapter develops a prototype Bible study specifically using MI theory.  The fourth chapter is a critical self-evaluation of this project and what this project might add as a resource for the adult Christian education leader. The study was conducted with ten Christian ten leaders and three observers in a seven week Bible study focusing on the process of spiritual transformation.  The study was measured by a pre-study questionnaire, a post-study questionnaire, and an evaluation.  The results of the study indicated significant change in spiritual gifting. The purpose-driven church paradigm is offered as a viable strategy for leading a military chapel effectively and with studied intention. The research question addressed in this paper is: To what extent will the reincorporation of traditional Brethren in Christ discipleship practices into the life of the contemporary church produce an increase in spiritual passion? As measured by the Natural Church Development survey, results were not encouraging. The author with others worked out these goals through the creation, launch and review of the congregations' mission statement, a series of united services focused on Mark's Gospel and the establishment of a lay pastoral visiting team. A framework for leadership development was established through an overview of biblical and church history and an examination of current leadership development trends. Intervention consisted of a series of sermons, 'Nehemiah on leadership,' and a small group study on 'The measure of a man' by Gene Getz. Analyses were performed to determine their effectiveness.
