The participants were involved in participatory activities using the pro-active method. This approach works pro-actively toward transformation and intentionally engages in qualitative research. The participants exposed to spiritual tools involving scripture reading, prayer, meditation, and dialogue were able to identify God's invitation to intimacy. Evaluation of the project included entry and exit questionnaires, journaling, and exit interviews. The objective of this project was to critique the absolute-truth claim of Churches of Christ and the interpretive and methodological structures that maintain it. The research methods used to test the hypothesis were action research and the pro-active method, using questionnaires, workshops, surveys, and interviews. The results showed that adherents were willing to rethink the absolute-truth claim. The hypothesis of this project is simple: knowledge plus experience equals acceptance. Through the research methods of surveys, interviews, and focus group instruction, the author discovered the validity of the projects hypothesis. Twenty-one questions guided discussions. Pre and post assessments were administered. Prochaska and DiClemente's definitive research on motivation and Stages of Change provided tools to measure progress. Objectives were to increase motivation to make more healthy food choices, increase awareness of relationship between Christian faith and the problems of overweight and obesity. Motivation to lose weight increased. Participants reported greater awareness of the connections between food habits and faith. The methodology used was a workshop, worship services, questionnaires, a sermon, and surveys. To evaluate the project, the author used focus groups and written evaluations. It first explored the thread of 'community' throughout Scriptures, from the relational Triune Creator (Genesis 1) to the final community of faith (Revelation). The results were gathered, sorted, and evaluated by the researcher, indicating spiritual growth did take place during the nine weeks. Christian men are not immune from the pressure of their own sexuality and in a highly sexualized world they need discipleship to restore and fortify their moral and spiritual integrity. The thesis explores the nature and treatment of sexual addiction and documents the creation of a ten-session program designed to assist adult men understand their own sexuality and learn to achieve self control. The study documents the impact of a small group study of biblical one-anothering on the level of marriage satisfaction as measured by qualitative and quantitative measures. The author preached four Old Testament sermons and four New Testament sermons in his church. The participants received a quiz to be completed immediately following each sermon. The results indicated that there was little difference between Old and New Testament sermons on participants' memory retention.
