The project was fundamental to the life and work of ministry--the desire for spiritual growth, commitment, and excitement among the people. The researcher devised a ten-week preaching series and Bible study programme and a nine-week prayer course on prayer. The spiritual well-being of the congregation, Bible study groups, and the selected prayer course was tested pretest and posttest. This thesis studied the impact of the implementation of the acts of service central to Steve Sjogren's servant evangelism on attitudes towards the mission of evangelism for members of Hope Community Church. A change in members' attitudes was measured through data and methodological triangulation,  using personal interviews, observation, and testing, thus combining both qualitative and quantitative methods. Of the seventy-two evangelical and non-evangelical clergy couples who completed the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS) and the Index of Marital Satisfaction (IMS) self-tests, the main issues of concern identified were: financial, religious, and affectional. With minimal seminar and follow-up participation, after these self-tests, the Transtheoretical model developed by Prochaska and Norcross (2003) was incorporated. The first event concentrated on the role of mentoring and the second on acquiring a basic understanding of interpresonal relationship skills. The project director recruited Baptist leaders from churches in the Lamar and Lebanon Baptist Associations currently supporting the Baptist Student Union. He developed the teaching material, a fill-in-the-blank notebook, a pre-test/post-test, and a covenant response sheet. Mentors were enlisted for training in biblical principles concerning the ministry of mentorship, the happy functioning of a Christian family, and the distinctive biblical teachings concerning the various family roles. Training consisted of four sessions which were held on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning as part of a seminar for senior adults. The project director wrote and presented a vision for mentoring ministry and the path for the steps needed to achieve the vision. The experiences of planning the seminar, teaching the seminar, and evaluating the seminar provided valuable insight into the process of training senior adult mentors. The project director became convinced that faithful Christian senior adults are the greatest untapped resource for instruction and encouragement in family living for younger adults. This was accomplished through researching principles of personal financial management and developing a program to train and equip selected young married couples of the First Baptist Church of Alexander City, Alabama, in principles of personal financial management.  Many equipping models are available for equipping in personal financial management, but the project director utilized research in the field and the existing models to synthesize a creative new approach specific for the First baptist Church of Alexander City, Alabama. The project involved enlisting 11 men from the church to participate in the project. The men were equipped using teaching sessions taught by the project director over the course of two weekend retreats. During the six weeks between the two retreats, the men participated in weekly community group meetings with the project director. The strategy was then to be presented to members of Capshaw Baptist Church (CBC) for consideration for adoption. The project was to lead a selected group of members in the development of a strategy that would serve as a ministry plan to address the emotional and spiritual needs of families suffering from chemical addictions in CBC. The team was to utilize selected principles from Aubrey Malphurs' process of advanced strategic planning. Research for the project centered upon the discovery of available resources directed toward the family member of the addicted person. The student researched the availability of existing local church ministries or programs for family members of addicted persons, and Christian-based addiction recovery programs in the state that touched on the family members' need in the recovery process. The strategy was designed by the project director after performing evaluations and surveys of the pastors, ministers of evangelism, ministers of education, and outreach directors.  The evaluations determined the level of evangelistic intentionality of the miniisterial staff and the church members. Demographies were overviewed to discover the people groups who reside in the communities surrounding the churches.  The responses from the evaluations and surveys were used by the director to determine the course of action needed by the churches to implement the NET.
