The hypothesis was that when the rural church closes the gap between personal use of media-technology and the use of media-technology in ministry, the result would result in growth.  This project was composed of three stages: recruiting rural clergy and church leaders (Elders/Deacons, Christian Education, Music), having these individuals complete a survey, and obtaining feedback in the form of focus groups.  The recruitment phase provided helpful information from the pastors through completion of the survey as well as submitting names of their leaders.  The second phase helped the researcher obtain the data necessary to formulate accurate detailed information. The project leader chose hymns for their theological content and their presentations of grace. The hymns were sung during morning worship and the project leader led a discussion group following worship.  The project report contains context and setting for conducting the research, congregational history, strategies for presenting the project, and the project leader's own theory of ministry, expectations and goals.  Wesleyan theology and views of scripture are offered along with other theological support. Evidence of the effectiveness was provided as participants completed a personal vision statement.  Twelve women participated in a retreat, four-week small group experience and concluding celebration.  All said the experience positively impacted their ability to deal with midlife issues. Activities common to biological families were highlighted and applied to the church family. Deacon of the church were trained to lead the small groups. In a two-part study, an assimilation model for new member education was developed and the model was field tested in three ninety minute focus group sessions.  Although the participating churches focused primarily on administrative efficiency, there is interest and need for a new model. A series of six prayer-training sessions were held to discuss issues of prayer and learn new methods.  An evaluation instrument was administered at the beginning and end of the process.  Included in the report is a theology and biblical support for the practice of private and corporate prayer, discussing historical and modern prayer movements. Miroslav Volf's research on reconciliation supported the exploration of self-identity as a foundation in the journey towards reconciliation.  Salvation Oracles in Ezekiel were utilized to facilitate discussion of the relationship between identity and land.
