The overall framework of this project is constructed according to Eldin Villafañe's 'social ethics hermeneutical circle paradigm.' This paradigm consists of three steps, raising three basic questions: Clarification -- what are the ministry issues? Conceptualization -- what are the biblical/theological themes pertinent to this ministry? Confrontation -- how should the Christian church respond to the issues? There are two main assumptions underlying this work. First is the understanding that prison is the place where criminals are punished, not the place that directs people away from criminal behavior. Many prisoner reentry issues are produced by an increasingly punitive and decreasingly rehabilitative criminal justice system. Second, the Christian church is an ideal candidate for the task of effecting permanent behavioral change in ex-offenders. The mental model is that the Christian church is a community institution which draws on religious traditions that affirm the values of human life, community, and faith, making it uniquely equipped to deal with the social and emotional challenges faced by recently released prisoners. The primary aim of this project is to use this mental model to show how church-based reentry ministries can be successful in reorienting, transforming, and empowering ex-offenders so that they might resist the temptations to crime present in our cities."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132128468008960,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:58:28.210Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:18:39Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:06:02Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8af6ad24-d20c-4300-abe0-1f91356eaff6","accessControl_ssim":["cd12532f-5fa3-4314-8360-a455f78eefde"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Race matters: closing Burrell Nursing Center and a revisit of the closing of the Central Jurisdiction"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:18:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:12:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c700b00b-eb93-4f4b-a2ef-8f7a29731ab0"],"hasLease_ssim":["22b450f2-e989-4b65-b6b3-eb4bc6380598"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William B McClain","Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Specifically this chapter argues that the multi-campus model is consistent with what the bible teaches concerning the purpose, mission, and organization of the church. Chapter 3 addresses the sociological factors that influence the church and how the multi-campus model of church growth addresses these. Chapter 4 examines six churches in North America that are implementing the multi-campus model. In this chapter we see that the methodology of these churches will differ, but they all are using a multi-campus approach. Throughout the process, the practicum observed how this concept of family could effectively function to support the participants to build a close relationship with each other and to identify themselves as part of the whole church family in a small group setting. The project was conducted for four weeks from May 22 to June 12, 2005. Fifteen people recruited from the church. The class met every Sunday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. during the period. In the class, the participants explored the meaning of being a healthy church family in light of biblical and Korean family models and established an intimate relationship with each other. They were also encouraged to practice spiritual disciplines as daily assignments. The practicum enabled participants to identify the church as their own spiritual family and perceive one another as their brothers and sisters in Christ. Their spiritual growth has influenced other members to recognize a new movement around the church. Indeed, the class successfully inspired them to live as faithful members of God's family."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720805743984640,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:11:49.140Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":412,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
