A significant relationship was found between their desire for peer approval and authority figure approval, and their tendency to conform to small group and congregational norms. It describes the processes that led to the institution of a Sunday school project and the formation of the Achimota School Gospel Outreach Club. Members of the club serve their peers as teachers in Sunday school classes. It also seeks to establish the theological, psychological and biblical rationale for involving teenagers in teaching the Gospel in Achimota School, Accra, Ghana. It then investigates possible ways to provide the missing link of significant Christian adult supervisors for teenage peer-teachers. In conclusion, it recommends the preparation of a handbook to be used as a blueprint for the implementation, adoption and institutionalization of the project in Ghana Methodist schools and congregations."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133629838000128,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:22:20.028Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:50:43Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:45:28Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7ed020c6-bce4-4443-bd0f-2e9c46d2087b","accessControl_ssim":["0b86c9fd-1341-4ca1-8296-9eb3e7064a74"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Relationship with God: wrestling, surrender, congruence"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:50:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:52:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["07435ae3-bf8a-45a8-a7bb-0ce472ec8305"],"hasLease_ssim":["ebcfe4c8-de34-4cc8-b007-5948dd989022"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["W Dow Edgerton"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Gary D Cox"],"publisher_tesim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Relation (Theology)","Preaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author contends there is a theological foundation for preaching that is capable of reaching across economic, cultural, gender and theological differences, based not on the countless variants of modern Christian theology, but rather on preaching relationship with God.
