It also presents how two Presbyterian church-related colleges (Presbyterian College and Warren Wilson College) are addressing religious particularity and plurality today. The general feeling is that many marriages fail, because people get married without understanding the impact this relationship will have on their lives. The Church has a vital role to play in helping to raise he awareness of what marriage entails. It has a unique opportunity to prepare couples for married life. The theology of marriage is explored and the role of the Church to help make healthy marriages. Responses from questionnaires and interviews were used to examine the necessity of premarital counseling. The author focuses on showing the necessity of premarital counseling and why the Church must consider it a tremendous theological teaching moment to help people prepare for Christian marriage. This project follows the path of a proactive assignment. It takes a quantitative and a qualitative case study approach process. This path is followed to achieve a relevant research methodology in order to enable the work to be of relevance to the ministry of the researcher. The author found that even though premarital counseling, can by no means be regarded as the sole factor to guarantee successful marriage, that there is a general agreement that there is need for helpful preparation of couples. Regardless of the outcome of the marriage, He feels it to be of eminent importance for the church to journey with people to their marriages. In that way all couples are made aware of the challenges that come with marriage. Pastors and other counselors must make use of all teaching opportunities available to them to make people aware of theological issues involved in the different aspects of life. This is why the author suggests structured policies on premarital counseling for his Church, which is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Suriname (Evangelisch Lutherse Kerk in Suriname) so that there is uniformity in guiding all members, and all Christians who will read this project. Very few resource materials are available on merging churches, and few, if any resources exist for church mergers involving White and non-White congregations. The author formulated guidelines for the process of merging through the examination and evaluation of two case studies of mergers between White and Asian American congregations, and information available through business, non-profit and church resources. The guidelines were sent to church leaders who have been involved or are currently involved in mergers between White and non-White congregations. Answering that question requires first clarifying what is meant by transformation, a term often used loosely in the current discussion of organizational change. This study proposes a specific understanding of missional transformation and examines one small urban congregation's four-year journey to become a missional community. The Gospel and our Culture Network's eight 'patterns of missional faithfulness' are the benchmarks used to evaluate the change that has taken place at North Presbyterian Church. Este trabajo busca demostrar la hipótesis de que los rasgos o características de un plantador de igesias efectivo pueden descubrirse y analizarse para su aplicación; por lo tanto, el estudio de las características de estos tres plantadores de iglesias revelará principios transferibles que pueden ser aplicados al ministerio de plantación de iglesias de otras personas. Con el propósito de probar la hipótesis y responder a la pregunta, el investigador hizo lo siguiente: seleccionar para este estudio de casos a tres reconocidos plantadores de iglesias que han estad trabajando por mucho tiempo con gente hispana en lost Estados Unidos. Zachary's 'mentoring skills,' and facilitated reflection groups enabled sixty-one Duke Divinity School students serving ten-week placements in small, rural United Methodist churches to describe their experiences. This project involves working with the corporate and personal grief of a particular congregation in its attempts to deal with a series of losses within the church. This project proposes that correlations between personal and corporate grief allow techniques used in facilitating the grief process in one to aid in the grief process of the other.  Deliberate use of pastoral work aided the congregation in its grief journey. Correlations were found between personal and corporate grief. These young mothers are experiencing spiritual needs and the church is seeking to put in place principles and guidelines that will enable them to meet their daily needs.  In this paper a proposed definitive statement is presented, a basic guideline, and principle are outlined in sequence. Strategy, goals, and an action plan are suggested for the church. This study suggests a pattern of thought, an approach to dealing with problems of teenage mothers.
