These sermons are designed for use during an outreach camp setting. The author reviewed the state of adolescent culture and wrote a theological case for proclamation and incarnational ministry. A basic framework for evangelistic message sequences is offered and a message sequence along with seven manuscripts were written. In August 2004, these sermons were presented during four camp settings. They were revised and presented again in April 2006 and August 2006 during three camp settings. The popularity of STM has increased to the point where it has become a major trend in missions. This study examines and analyzes the effects of North American STM to Mexico from the perspective of Mexican pastors (emic perspective), providing an avenue for the Mexican pastors to give feedback to the North American STM teams. To get congregations 'on the way' toward a revitalized spirit, this project presents through a leadership conference the conceptual (culture and leadership) and theological (church identity) foundations of an integrated pathway (spiritual, structural, theological, and conceptual) of renewal. The seminar focuses on the utilization of the Ladder of Abstraction in deriving a timeless principle from a biblical text. Biblical application is authoritative application. The major premise of this work is that preachers should go through a process of theological principlization in validating their applications. Exposition demands authoritative application. Authoritative application comes only from the author's intent. The need for this thesis became apparent through bibliographic research which revealed limited works covering the process of principlization. Chapter two affirms the need to principlize and the validity of the method. The overall framework of this project is reflected in what Dr. Eldin Villafañe refers to as 'the hermeneutical circle of social ethics.' The description of this paradigm involved three important steps, which have each been presented from a systemic point of view: Clarification - what's going on? Conceptualization - what does the Bible and other pertinent discipline say? Confrontation - how do we respond? The first step, clarification involves doing careful social analysis to gain a contextual and comprehensive picture of the issue. It includes three important elements: the context of the Latino immigrants, the relevant needs of the LAtino immigrants, and the context of the Congregation Candelero de Dios (it is the introduction and chapter one). The second step, conceptualization involves biblical and theological reflection. The third step, confrontation involves developing clear strategies that flow out of confluence of the first two steps (chapter five). The study begins by laying down vital theological and biblical principles. Pertinent Christian and secular literature will be reviewed to discover what is known about the principles and practices common to all selection processes and those dynamics which would be uniquely oriented for associate pastor hiring. This thesis continues by exploring the issues of: ministerial portfolio presentation; candidate profiling; ministry marketing; assessment strategy; and the legal, ethical and financial considerations in quality hiring. A questionnaire will be utilized to survey senior pastors to discover how they approach the entire process of associate pastoral candidates. A primary premise of the work is that the reason for the 'silent exodus' that many Korean-American churches are currently experiencing shares remarkable similarities with postmodern emphasis on rejection of any metanarrative. The author suggests that this rejection of metanarrative is partly responsible for the 'silent exodus.'
