As director of the Evangelism and Church Development Program the author was in a unique position to ask the question: could the program of Natural Church Development (NCD) be used to reverse the situation? First the author established the parallels between the ecclesiology of Wesley and the theology of Natural Church Development. Then the author taught NCD principles and invited participating churches to engage in NCD assessments. Although there have been great strides accomplished in the meeting of hearts and minds of denominational leaders, implementation of dialogue has not been effectively performed in the context of local congregations, depriving the church of a vibrant means of theological and relational growth. The principal idea used was John Wesley's admonition to 'earn all you can, save all you can, and give all you can.' This method can be applied to finances and all aspects of discipleship. The author used a four-week Bible study to examine this holistic method of stewardship. We cannot cover our nakedness and shame. Only God's mercy can adequately respond to our need. God covers our shame. Through baptism, prayer, vocation and resurrection we share in the glory of Christ. Pastoral leadership can help a midsize congregation out of the shadow of the mega-church to establish its own relevant ministries. Vision is critically important, for where there is no vision, the people do perish. The whole church must welcome new people and be open to new ministerial ideas. Knowing one's congregation and being knowledgeable of community needs are of utmost importance. In this paper, the author has designed a ministry tool that improves upon the existing visual arts worship resources by providing background information and theological observations for the visual art used in the Advent C cycle of lectionary preaching. The ideal covenant community focuses on the principles of the Mosaic covenant community. The story of Joseph, as a steward leader, provides a biblical model by which effective leadership is provided to the people of God. The goal of ministry in the modified congregational context is to keep the congregation operating within the context of the Mosaic covenant community. Once they became personal evangelists, they would lead their classes to be more involved in evangelism. The author researched the importance of the pastor's role in personal evangelism.  He discovered evangelism was more effectively learned experientially.  He researched two basic fears in evangelism: incompetence and rejection.  He studied basic apologetics and researched how to overcome distractions in evangelism.  The conclusion was the teachers were more equipped as a result of the project than before it.
