The research is centered around preparation and analysis of a series of four sermons on social justice.  An attempt was made to demonstrate to the congregation that social justice is a central theme running throughout the whole Bible.  Particular emphasis is placed on the preaching of the prophets and Jesus' ministry of preaching and teaching.  A cross-section of the researcher's congregation was asked questions before the sermon series began, after each of the four social justice sermons, and after the whole series had been completed.  There was a discernible difference in the audience's opinions on why people are poor and in the audience's intention to change structural injustice. In addition, there was an increase in the respondents' ability to identify biblical texts that address social justice and an increase in their ability to apply biblical social justice to local, national, and global issues. This thesis examines the intertwining of images and identities within consumer culture, noting that Christian women may not differ from their non-Christian counterparts in their responses to the images surrounding them. A survey of Christian college women was qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. Christian churches must constantly face the pressure of ministering in a Latter-day Saint environment.  The high density Mormon population creates a unique dynamic that necessitates the ability to: explain the distinctives of the Christian faith; defend the accuracy of the Bible; and preach an accurate reflection of Christ to people influenced by this theology.  For this reason it is necessary to wrestle with current trends in Mormon doctrine and how they relate to Christianity.  This thesis evaluates current trends within the Mormon church to determine whether or not Mormonism is now Christian. It seeks and answers the question, 'What, if anything, has changed within Mormonism?' To achieve this goal, the first chapter describes the problem. The second chapter is a biblical and theological defense for using modern communication techniques to deliver the ancient stories of scripture. The third chapter reveals some of the common techniques professionals use when making television shows and commercials, and the relevancy of using such information in sermons. The fourth chapter contains a lesson plan and handouts used to teach preachers the information contained in chapter three. Prime's The power of prayer and Talbot Chambers's The noon prayer meeting of the North Dutch Church, Fulton Street, New York, this study seeks to expand the narrative to include the historical material of the time.  This project includes an examination of literature seeking relevant opinions and insights into the Fulton Street prayer meetings.  The foundational historical framework for the revival is presented in two elements.  First, an examination is made of the historical context of the revival, including changes in the United States from 1812 to the Civil War, focusing on the economic, geographic, political, journalistic, and social elements. To overcome these barriers, the Eastern Russian version was produced with a contextual cover, alternate terms and names of biblical characters, and footnotes with a Muslim audience in mind. This dissertation examines the premises and processes of the production of this version anthropologically, linguistically and missiologically.  It also evaluates the effectiveness of its contextualization through qualitative field research. The study also investigates the opinions and resources offered by Christian ministry leaders working in the field of sexual addiction. The outcomes show, in a random sampling of volunteer chaplains, over 40 percent demonstrated strong signs of sexually addictive behavior. Interview results affirm that although resources exist to provide preventative education and treatment for sexual addiction, many barriers exist to confronting the issue. Denial in the church is not the least of these. Ironically, the church holds the keys to healing and healthy sexuality.
