This project ministry consisted of introducing a program of spiritual formation in the curriculum of West Africa Advanced Baptist School of Theology.  The project involved participation of graduating seminary students in a course on Christian growth and practice of spiritual disciplines. Participants reflected on their relationship with God and committee to maintaining a growing relationship with God. In a workshop setting participants explored four concepts of strategic planning: 1) shaping direction, 2) inspiring commitment 3) developing supportive relationships, and 4) facilitating change. The project began with research in the field of guest outreach ministry. Once the research was completed, the project director developed an eight session workshop to equip the selected church members in guest outreach ministry. Before each workshop session the selected church members were given a listening guide to help them follow the teaching time. The workshop listening guide gave the selected church members a broad view of guest outreach ministry. The project utilized expert evaluation, pre-test/post-test, case study, roleplay, and pastoral reflection. The workshop was taught in eight sessions. Matthew"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author's purpose was to use creative stories (self-written and/or collected) to illustrate and illuminate the Beatitudes of Matthew 5:1-12 so they might be more easily incorporated and retained in the lives of hearers.  Over a period of 13 weeks the author presented stories over each beatitude, using pre-tests and post-tests, to measure any changes on the participant that may have been a result of the story's influence.  One week after the story the author presented a sermon on the previous beatitude to help underscore the point of the story itself.  At the beginning and end of the project, spiritual growth assessment inventories were administered to determine any overall changes in attitude and action.
